We ordered this for Christmas for the kids, and good thing we double checked the box upon delivery, as this is for the PS2/PS3 platform and we needed Xbox 360. Shame that it was not more clearly marked in the product name, as the Xbox version is no longer available on Amazon, and we lost the opportunity to get this purchased early.

I am sure the product itself is as good or better than the base Rock Band drums. The games themselves are also great. Amazon has been great about returning this item, and even provides return shipping.

Just wish the gaming platform was made way more obvious.

Plastics rims should be removed once and for all.Base is VERY VERY unstable,i don’t know why they call them “Standalone” drums, instead they should be named “Rocking chair” drums.

Bought this for my 19 year old son and he is always playing it. He loves it. I also bought the cymbals which are sold separately.

I’m not going to write an entire review on every aspect of this product because everyone else pretty much wrote the same reviews and they’re all pretty accurate. However, there is one major flaw that I want to mention that no one else has seemed to experience yet. So, like everyone else said, the improvements are:

-Upgraded pads (Sensitivity-wise and sound-wise

-Structurally better

-Improved sticks

-More durable pedal (The pedal will still break but I just duct taped it up and it seemed to be a permanent fix for it. No more issues after that)

-Wireless

However, I found one fatal flaw in this kit that I want to throw out there because no one else has.

I’ve owned this drum kit for only 2-3 months, and when I play, I go pretty hard on them, but they should be made to endure that for more than just a couple months. I noticed just after a few weeks of owning them that my red pad started to form a bubble on it from the rubber stretching out. Eventually, it turned into a rip and I ended up ripping through all 4 layers of the pad (Rubber, pad, plastic, sensor), thus my kit no longer works. This is a good warning for anyone who plays expert drums relentlessly that this kit will wear fast and unless you can find some permanent fix for it, I wouldn’t recommend it unless you can afford paying $200 a year for these drums.

Other than that, I loved this kit. It was just a major disappointment when I realized it was only a matter of time before it broke.
