This seemed like a a good little hand held laser. The first few days it started off very bright then would dim slightly after the first second of being on. as of 2 weeks it has now completely died. I opened the thing up to see if any thing has broken. When power is applied the only thing seen is a slight red glow for the infrared diode laser module. Also the way the the tube is designed to hold the batteries allows them to rattle around in inside. I have a few lasers this one loads the batteries from the end the others unscrew in the middle and have the words “*LASER POINTER*” stamped on the clip. With those the tube is a smaller diameter on the inside which holds the batteries in place better. So over all this is a CHEEP laser, not well designed and did not last long for me. Hope others have better luck. I would not buy this from the same manufacture again if I knew who it was.

The laser starts out kind of dim and after a minute or so it is fully heated up and shines bright. It drains batteries pretty fast especially the ones that come with it they lasted about 15 minutes. I replaced them with some Energizer Industrial AAA’s and they last quite a bit longer. The 5 tips are quite fun to mess around with they’re more interesting than I thought they’d be. I don’t recommend getting rechargeable batteries I bought them but they drain faster than the original batteries you have to charge them way to often.

I was not expecting anything special from a 12 dollar laser pointer that included a free led light as well. What I got was awesome. At first it seems like a weak light, but after a minute of use, you can actually see the entire beam in semi-lit areas. I cannot speak for the long-term reliability, but it seems like something close to a high-end pointer at a dirt cheap price.

I too thought that a green laser pointer for under twenty bucks was a great deal and worth a try. Unfortunately the quality of these lasers is dreadful. I had a experience similar to other posters, where the unit would intermittently shine from high to low. The intensity of the beam is all over the place, and mostly dull with a rang of only a few feet. This unit does not perform, even with new batteries. You might get lucky and get a good one, but mine was broken right out of the box. Save yourself the trouble and hassle of a return and a customer service nightmare and find a different brand/company.

Out of the box I could not believe the performance of this laser, with a bright pinpoint beam at 500+ yds, and the changeable patterns are awesome and functional as well. Well worth the money – if it would last more than a day. Worked great the night I got it, placed it back in the box, and the next night I tried it, push the button and nothing happens. Change batteries…nothing happens. I fiddled with this thing for an hour before I gave up…it sometimes will come on, but only at half intensity, then will fade away to nothing, then nothing the next several pushes of the button. Then the next button push it will come on for half a second and then go out. I figured out if I push the button and hold it, the laser *may* turn on for a few seconds with variable intensity, then fade to nothing. It’s not the batteries (I tried 2 or three known good/new sets of alkalines) and it’s not the switch (i can see a tiny red light come on inside the tube each time I press the button). For some reason the internal laser mechanism is not activating correctly. I know what I am doing around gadgets but this thing has me baffled. I’ve tried every conceivable combination of variables possible – even temperature, humidity, etc. I can only chalk it up to being a piece of junk. Too bad.
